Last month, 23 March, I took 4-days-trip to Yogyakarta with my mom and my boyfriend, Billy. It was not my first time going to this city, but it was Billy’s first time. I revisited some places, explored new tourist spots and this city still amazed me like the first time I go there.
Flying with Airasia, we arrived at Yogya at noon. We took the public bus to go to Malioboro street where we already booked the rooms, The packer lodge. (To book via AGODA, click here)
We hurried to Keraton before it was closed but sadly it was too late. We hung around the Malioboro and took some photo session at Sinten Studio.
The following day was Billy’s birthday so I gave him some surprises at night.
After the surprise, we slept and rose early to catch sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu (map).Unfortunately, it was foggy. Then, we moved to Borobudur Temple (map). Still early but the sun was really unfriendly to us. It doesn’t mean that I’m trying to compare this temple which ever be the world wonder with Angkor Wat, but this Borobudur temple was far behind it. I saw many Buddha statues without heads. But the view was still beautiful from up there. The next spot was Bukit Rhema, Gereja Ayam. However, we couldn’t make it since the bridge was broken. We just headed to Jejamuran Resto (map) to fill our empty stomach.
Next, we moved to Taman Sari (map). The air was overheating. Thanks to Billy, he was still able to capture a good picture of me there. It would be good if we could get something icy for our thirst. So, we moved to Tempo Gelato. The street where it was located was so vintage but we couldn’t go around. It was raining. That’s why we continued to Kotagede, where there were so many silver craft makers. My mom bought earrings for my sister at Ansor’s Silver (map). Last destination for today was Ratu Boko Temple (map). We planned to see the sunset there but it was too crowded. We didn’t want to waste our time there so we hopped to our last destination, a local Javanese noodle restaurant, Bakmi Jowo Mbak Gito (map). Our driver recommended us it. We drove back to the hotel to get early sleep because we were really tired.
We rent a car from Kuruma Car Rental.
